各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

從未試過在炎炎夏日下，同學們仍在「暑假」上課，大家仍要努力至八月中旬，學校會繼續舉辦各項活動，希望能善用這個特別的暑假。

I believe that teachers and students have had lessons during summer so far. All of us need to work until Mid-August. The school will organize various kind of activities to students and hope they will effectively use their summer holiday to learn more.

同學們終於完成了考試了！由於疫情反覆，個案持續飆升，我們曾經擔心考試需要改期或取消，幸好本地及跨境學生都可以如期進行考試。

Students finished their examination. The pandemic keeps on increasing which made us worried the examination would be cancelled or rescheduled. Fortunately, the examination remained for both local and cross-boundary students.

學校的發展，有賴家長的意見。教育局要求學校每年需完成「持分者問卷」，分別由學生、家長及老師填寫，當我們收集了意見後，會作整理及跟進。今年一如以往，收到不同持分者的意見，每次我也第一時間細閱。首先，多謝很多家長的讚賞、支持及鼓勵，我們會繼續努力。至於部分家長提出希望學校能全日上課，事實上，根據教育局要求，所有學校暫時未能全日上課，當疫情趨緩後，相信會回復全日上課; 由於疫情關係，一些聚會、活動的形式及人數上限受到限制，故今年度與家長溝通的渠道減少了，我答應大家下年度盡量多舉辦不同的家長活動，如最受歡迎的「與校長茶聚」也會盡快復辦，好讓家長可以多些了解學校及與老師面談。

The school development needs parents’ opinion and suggestion. Schools need to finish ‘Stakeholder Survey’ and submit to Education Bureau to understand more about the school development. This survey is filled by students, parents and teachers. After collecting all the data, we consolidate and do the follow-up. As usual, I read all the data collected from different stakeholders at once as I really want to know our performance. Thank you so much for the complement by the parents. They also show their support and encouragement to us. We will try our best in the coming future. We wish the school will back to normal for the whole day school when the current wave of epidemic will be combatted. It is difficult to arrange gathering or activities because there is people limitation. Therefore, parents’ meeting or seminars are reduced. I promise I will organize more gathering with parents especially ‘High tea with Principal’. It is such precious chance to talk with parents face-to-face.

在這個炎熱的上課日，我們希望學生能輕輕鬆鬆，從活動中學習，有着開心及難忘的時刻。我們安排了許多不一樣的活動：排練了整年的戲劇「如果泰山出了城」，終於在七月十九日(星期二)於禮堂公演了！看着表演同學戰戰兢兢去排練及表演，我覺得他們成熟了不少 ; 七月二十日(星期三) Viva! Pipers非凡管樂派在禮堂舉行了一場管樂表演，同學們更有機會當上小指揮，指揮樂隊；同學們最期待的「疫」「劉」而上最終大獎，終於在七月二十二日(星期五)早上頒發，我們一行八十多人浩浩蕩蕩前往屯門市中心的戲院欣賞電影，看電影時，看見他們又驚又開心，時而大笑、時而大叫，我覺得也覺得十分開心，是一件很有意義的事。

In this hot summer, we hope our students will have a relaxed learning atmosphere during lessons. They will cherish a lot with happiness. Our school arranged various activities for them. Like a drama performance has been rehearsed throughout a year. Those participants performed on Tuesday, 29th July, 2022 in the school hall. I can tell those participants become mature and serious. On Wednesday, 20th July, 2022, Viva! Pipers performed at our school hall. Students has an opportunity to be a conductor. Our students had a high expectation of the ultimate prize on ‘To Swim Upstream’ Scheme. On Friday, 22nd July, 2022, more than 80 teachers and students went to the cinema in Tuen Mun Town Centre to watch a movie with me, the Principal. They laughed, screamed and so forth when they watched the movie. It was such a meaningful activity to give an experience to our students.

今年是第三十四屆畢業禮，今年的主題是—「我們起飛了」，相信大家由一入學校就見到老師將學校變身為機場；邀請咭就是證件及機票。我們努力如此去營造這個氛圍，目的是希望給我們六年級的畢業生一次難忘的畢業禮。在典禮開始，學生、家長及老師也展露開心的笑容去參加。過程中，我的歡迎詞、頒獎、畢業生致詞、大合唱等等，大家的情緒有了變化，開始有點依依不捨。 畢業典禮完成後，大家也一起拍照留念。衷心祝願六年級畢業生鵬程萬里，要多回校探望老師。

This year, it is the 34th Speech Day. The theme is ‘We are setting off!’ I believe that everyone can see the school has been decorated as an airport by teachers. The invitation card and ticket become the passport and boarding pass respectively. All the us work so hard to create this atmosphere because we want our P.6 students have an unforgettable Speech Day. In the beginning of the ceremony, students, parents and teachers are so happy with their smiles. After the welcoming speech, prize presentation, speech by the graduate representative, singing along and so on which made people change their feeling from happiness to be reluctant to graduate. Students with their parents keep on finding teachers to take pictures for their good memories. Wish our P.6 students to have a bright future. It is hoped that all of you will come back to school to visit us.

七月二十五日（星期一）舉行了畢業典禮，六年級學生及家長懷着喜悅的心情回家。翌日七月二十六日(星期二)，他們就帶着忐忑的心情再次回校，領取自己獲派中學的結果。大家在上午8:30回校，家長到禮堂聽講解及注意事項，學生需要到課室取成績單。大約15分鐘後，學生們也陸續到禮堂與家長見面，有些歡喜若狂、有些目無表情、有些相擁流淚。事實上，今年派位成績比上年又進步些了，大部分同學都派到了心儀的中學。這兩天，真的令老師們十分安慰，又一屆學生畢業。我們會繼續努力，為學生的學習打拼。

On Monday, 25th July 2022 was the Speech Day which made P.6 students and parents left school happily. Next day, they needed to come back to school again with fear because it was the SSPA release day. All of them arrived at 8:30 a.m. Parents went into the school to know what they will need to do on the coming days. P.6 students went back to the classroom to get the result. After 15 minutes, students came down to meet their parents, some were excited, some were speechless, some were hugging to cry or laugh. In fact, the result is better than last year and most of the students can go to their chosen ones. Within these 2 days, teachers feel satisfied as students keep on improving. We will keep up our spirit to develop the school and teach our students.

七月份的全球氣溫都十分高，酷熱警告持續多天，在這些日子工作、上學也較難集中精神。相比外國，我們已經十分幸福。我向外籍老師Ms.Ruth傾談，得知她的家鄉英國也十分炎熱，她的家中沒有冷氣，而窗是兩層的玻璃，基本沒有人在白天留在家中，他們會在商場或到沙灘消暑。我們真的要愛惜地球，盡量配合環保政策，減少碳排放。天氣炎熱，希望同學多注意自己的身體狀況，多喝水，一有不適，要立即向家人或老師報告。

Hot wave attacks globally in July. Very hot weather warning has remained for several days. It is hard to concentrate for people who need to work or study. However, we are so lucky in Hong Kong. I discussed with our NET teacher Ms. Ruth. She told me that it is extremely hot in England her homeland. There is no air conditioner at home and the windows are thick with 2 layers. Nobody is willing to stay at home and they will go to the shopping malls or beaches to relief the summer heat. We really need to protect the earth and we need to work out the environmental protection policies and to reduce carbon emissions. I hope students pay more attention to their physical condition with drinking more water and report to their family members or teachers immediately if they feel uncomfortable to aware of heat stroke.
